Calum draws on music, performance, installation and documentary-making traditions to create projects which explore the intersections between subject and sound; fact and fiction; concrete and abstract.

Calum has worked with organisations including BBC Radio 3 and 4, BBC Sounds, Deutschlandfunk, Paraorchestra, Audible, VICE, Museum of the Home, the Donmar Warehouse, The Yard, Soho Theatre, Theater Rampe (Stuttgart) and Deutsches Theater (Berlin).

Calum was awarded an Off West End Award for Best Sound Design for work on the play Ten Days in a Madhouse. Calum also received the Multitrack Audio Production Fellowship, the Artquest Unlocking The Collections residency, the NEO Fellowship at Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, and the Live Lab Directing Fellowship at the Yard Theatre.

Calum campaigns for the rights of artists as an active member of Artists’ Union England and Equity.
